Aberdeen Donor Center Celebrates Lifesaving Work with Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

DES MOINES, IOWA (June 7, 2023) – As a supplier to eastern South Dakota hospitals since 2004, LifeServe Blood Center expanded its South Dakota reach in 2022 by partnering with more community hospitals, opening new donor centers, and establishing wider donor bases to support the local blood supply in neighborhoods from Yankton to Fort Pierre. LifeServe will celebrate their third month of operations at the Aberdeen Donor Center with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday, June 12 at 10:00am.

This Aberdeen donor center facilities house a blood donation center, a mobile blood drive staging site to accommodate blood drives across northern South Dakota, as well as product processing which provide access to a local blood supply in this area.  “Having a reliable blood supply is important, especially in rural areas,” said Tami Svatos, Director of Laboratory Services at Avera St. Luke’s Hospital and Avera Medical Group Clinics. “Avera is glad to collaborate with LifeServe in the support of our communities.”  

Aberdeen is the third largest city in the state of South Dakota and sees many visitors from neighboring smaller towns and communities for employment, shopping, dining, healthcare, and entertainment.  LifeServe is proud to have been chosen as the blood provider to this community and is looking forward to meeting new blood donors, helping to keep a strong blood supply for this region of South Dakota We are hopeful to see our mission resonate with the Aberdeen community, local blood saving local lives.

LifeServe Blood Center and the Aberdeen Area Chamber of Commerce invite the community to attend the upcoming ribbon cutting ceremony at the Aberdeen donor center located at 2727 6th Ave SE on Monday, June 12 at 10:00am. Visitors are welcome to tour the facility and enjoy light refreshments.
