First Responder Blood Drives
If you had an emergency in Iowa, Nebraska, or South Dakota, emergency dispatch would not send first responders from California or New York to your assistance. The community blood supply is managed in the same way. Our community blood supply is a locally controlled, national resource dependent on local communities of donors that are able to support the patients at local hospitals through blood donation. If first responders and hospitals don’t have access to a safe and available blood supply, they cannot do their lifesaving work. When we work together, we all save local lives.
Blue Blood Blood Drives
LifeServe Blood Center is proud to partner with local police forces each year, allowing community donors to show support for law enforcement through blood donation. During the week of National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, January 9th, LifeServe and the tri-state chapter of C.O.P.S. (Concerns of Police Survivors) host blood drives across Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota.

Firefighting Appreciation Blood Drives
Each May, LifeServe invites our donors to stop, drop, and roll up their sleeves as we celebrate and honor International Firefighters Day. LifeServe Blood Center partners with local fire departments across the tri-state region for a multi-day blood drive honoring the brave individuals in our community who risk the ultimate sacrifice to save others.
Battle of the Badges Blood Drives
LifeServe is honored to partner with local Emergency Medical Service teams each year, in the month of July, to challenge our Fire and Police departments to a friendly competition for the most blood donations.
Special Battle of the Badges blood drives take place across the tri-state region, allowing donors to “vote” for the badge of their choice and celebrate the impact of these community heroes.
