• Weather Weather Impacts Midwest Blood Supply Extreme winter weather has caused widespread disruptions across the Midwest, resulting in canceled blood drives and closures of LifeServe Blood Center Donor Centers across Iowa, South Dakota, Nebraska, and Illinois.
• Cybersecurity Attack: LifeServe Responds New York Blood Center Enterprises (NYBCe) experienced a Cybersecurity Attack. This attack has affected community blood centers in Minnesota, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, and Wisconsin.
• LifeServe Blood Center Ribbon Cutting in Johnston LifeServe Blood Center hosted a ribbon cutting and grand opening of their new Johnston Headquarters on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at 4 p.m. The new location is located at the corner of Merle Hay Road and Johnston Drive at 5625 NW Johnston Drive.

• LifeServe Celebrates 75th Anniversary at Sioux City Blood Donor Day LifeServe Blood Center, UnityPoint Health – Sioux City, and KTIV invite the community to this year's Blood Donor Day to boost the community blood supply and celebrate 75 years of saving local lives. LifeServe Blood Center provides 100% of all blood products needed to more than 160 hospitals across Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota, including UnityPoint Health – Sioux City.

• LifeServe and MercyOne Lift the Blood Supply This year's MercyOne blood drives will have an impact on 657 hospital patients in the LifeServe area.
• LIFESERVE SUPPORTS AREAS IMPACTED BY HURRICANE MILTON LifeServe Blood Center has sent more than 250 red cells and platelets to the areas being impacted by Hurricane Milton. The blood supply in the hurricane zone is already suffering due to Hurricane Helene that made landfall in late September, lower blood donor turnout and active evacuations ahead of the current storm.
• LIFESERVE BLOOD CENTER SUPPORTS PELLA IN PINK TO RAISE BREAST CANCER AWARENESS LifeServe Blood Center is proud to announce its sponsorship of Pella in Pink, an annual event hosted by the Pella Regional Health Center, aimed at raising awareness for breast cancer and supporting those in our community impacted by the disease. Throughout October, LifeServe invites the public to donate blood at our Pella Donor Center to help breast cancer patients during their treatment journey.
• BLOOD DONATIONS URGENTLY NEEDED AFTER MULTIPLE SHOOTINGS IN DES MOINES Over the weekend, multiple shootings in Des Moines caused patients at both MercyOne Des Moines and UnityPoint Health-Iowa Methodist Medical Center to use more than 150 units of red blood cells, platelets, and plasma. LifeServe Blood Center received urgent requests from both area hospitals following their massive transfusion protocols, asking for additional blood products to treat victims impacted by the shootings.
• BLOOD DONATIONS IN CRITICAL NEED AFTER LABOR DAY HOLIDAY The community blood supply has been strained this summer and into the Labor Day holiday and is now critically low after the long weekend. LifeServe Blood Center is in critical need of all blood types, especially O- and B-.
