Plasma in blood is the liquid part of blood that carries blood cells and many important substances throughout your body.

What's a Plasma donation?

This an automated donation that allows donors to give more than double the number of plasma cells normally collected during a whole blood donation. This automated donation collects only the plasma and returns the remaining blood components to the donor.

Who needs Plasma Donations?

Severe Burn Patients require quick replenishment of plasma volume and components.

Trauma Care Patients like individuals with severe bleeding during or post-surgery, need immediate and comprehensive care.

Clotting Disorders need blood products, like plasma, for rapid stabilization.

Immune Deficient Patients will need plasma for extra support.

Why is Plasma needed?

Plasma donations are needed because plasma contains vital proteins and antibodies that can't be synthetically made in sufficient quantities, and many people depend on them to survive or stay healthy.

Can I donate Plasma?

The actual donation takes 40 minutes, making the overall donation process to just over an hour. Eligible plasma donors must weigh at least 110 pounds and be in general good health. Donors must be must be at least 16 years or older (with parental/guardian consent). Plasma donors can donate every 28 days.
