Designed to build student leadership, reward service, and support local healthcare, this program is your school’s opportunity to turn compassion into action and earn up to $5,000 in scholarship funds.
What Is It?
The LifeServe High School Scholarship Program encourages schools to host student-led blood drives during the academic year. Scholarship dollars are awarded based on the number of units collected at these drives.
Scholarships can be awarded to:
- A qualifying student (paid to their post-secondary institution)
- The high school to be distributed as scholarships
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the scholarship program, your school must:
- Host at least two blood drives with LifeServe between July 1, 2025, and June 30, 2026
- Drives must meet unit minimums to qualify
- Ensure the drives are student-led (students must handle recruitment and marketing)
- Canceled drives must be rescheduled to a date prior to 6/30/2026 to count toward the scholarship award
Why LifeServe
Unlike national blood centers, LifeServe keeps donations local. That means every unit collected at your school will support your local hospitals, helping your students’ friends, families, and neighbors in their time of need.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can we combine units from multiple drives to reach a scholarship tier?
A: Yes! As long as your school hosts at least two drives between July 1, 2025, and June 30, 2026, all units from those drives will count toward your scholarship total.
Q: What does “student-led” mean exactly?
A: Students must be involved in planning, promoting, recruiting donors, and volunteering on the day of the drive. This builds leadership and ownership of the project.
Q: Who selects the scholarship recipient?
A: Your school decides whether the scholarship goes to a specific student (paid to their post-secondary institution) or to the hosting high school to be distributed as scholarships.
Q: What happens if we cancel a drive?
A: If a drive has to be canceled, the drive must be rescheduled and completed before June 30, 2026 to remain eligible for the program.
Q: What support does LifeServe provide?
A: LifeServe will provide guidance, marketing materials, refreshments, day-of staff and free classroom and school presentations to educate students about the lifesaving importance of blood donation. We’ll help your students succeed, but they lead the way!
