SAVE ONE, FEED ONE – LIFESERVE PARTNERS WITH FOOD BANK OF SIOUXLAND
Last Updated on December 01, 2023
DES MOINES, IOWA (December 1, 2023) – LifeServe Blood Center and the Food Bank of Siouxland have joined forces this holiday season for a community betterment initiative that will fill the shelves of the local blood center and the shelves of the community food bank.
In the winter months, both the Food Bank of Siouxland and LifeServe Blood Center see an increased need for community support in order to sustain the needs of individuals in the Siouxland region. With a shared goal to educate on the importance of donations of all kinds and to recruit and create a new network of dual donors, the “Save One, Feed One” program was created.
During the month of December, Siouxland residents are invited to visit LifeServe’s Sioux City Donor Center to donate blood and in exchange, LifeServe will donate an item of food to the Food Bank of Siouxland. All donors are encouraged to bring food items at their time of donation as the donor center will serve as a drop off location for the Food Bank of Siouxland in December. LifeServe Vice President Anjeanette Barto shared, “As the community's primary blood provider, this partnership with the Food Bank of Siouxland allows us to expand our mission of saving lives in partnership with the communities we serve. At a time when both blood donations and food donations are critically needed by many in Siouxland, we are incredibly grateful for this opportunity to increase our lifesaving local impact”.
By donating blood with LifeServe in December, individuals can directly impact the health and well-being of patients in need while simultaneously supporting the Food Bank of Siouxland and those facing food shortages. To learn more or schedule your donation appointment, visit our website.
