NEW IN 2026: Universal Donor Society (O-)
Less than 10 percent of the population have the O Negative blood type. O- blood can be used to treat patients of any blood type, including in trauma situations where a patient’s blood type is not yet known. That’s what makes these lifesaving donors extra special, and thus makes this particular blood type in high demand – and often leads to local shortages of O- blood all year long.
So we want O- donors to join our brand new Universal Donor Society program in 2026! The more times you contribute to the local blood supply, the more perks you’ll get as we recognize and honor your commitment to saving local lives with your generous gift of life. The Universal Donor Society is a rewards program only for O-negative donors of whole blood or double red cells.
