For the past 15 years, Iowa and Nebraska have shared more than the Missouri River. Their annual football game has been circled as soon as each team’s schedule is released. It’s a time for the neighboring states to cheer for their teams in the final game of the regular season, with more than just bragging rights on the line. Sometimes it’s to secure a winning season and sometimes it’s to secure a spot in the conference championship game.

This year, LifeServe Blood Center is encouraging their blood donation heroes to step up in a time of need. During the week of Thanksgiving, blood donations begin to fall due to inclement weather and holiday travels. To coincide with the theme of the Iowa and Nebraska rivalry game, and the game occurring on November 27, LifeServe wants blood donors to step up and be the heroes they prove themselves to be. All donors at LifeServe’s Iowa donor centers can earn a limited-edition Iowa vs Nebraska Border Battle shirt between November 23 and November 28.
