The recent winter weather has affected the travel plans of many midwestern families. However, it is also affecting your local blood supply. Today alone, LifeServe Blood Center has seen over 216 appointment cancellations. Donor centers have opened late and/or closing early and many mobile blood drives have been completely cancelled.

LifeServe Blood Center, located at 2901 Broadway Suite F in Yankton, opened its new donor center doors on Tuesday, February 22. LifeServe is the sole provider of blood products to Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton and has been the community-based blood center in the area for many years.
