Iowa Lt. Gov. Adam Gregg Supports Community Blood Supply

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (March 30, 2021) – Lt. Governor Adam Gregg plans to make a lifesaving blood donation on Tuesday, March 30 at 11 am at LifeServe’s Sioux City Donor Center located at 4501 Southern Hills Drive. Gregg is an avid blood donor and looks forward to supporting the community blood supply during his 99 county tour.

LifeServe Blood Center, the sole supplier of blood products to more than 120 hospitals in Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota, including MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center and UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s, continues to need donors to give blood to immediately increase the local blood supply.

COVID-19 is still causing major blood drive cancellations and lost donations for LifeServe but the need for blood remains constant. Governor Kim Reynolds and Lt. Governor Adam Gregg continue to show their support for the community blood supply by being generous blood donors with LifeServe Blood Center.

“We cannot thank the Governor and Lt. Governor enough for their support throughout the pandemic. They’re not only advocates for a safe blood supply but also loyal blood donors,” said Danielle West, Director of PR and Marketing for LifeServe Blood Center. “Unfortunately, our community blood supply has been majorly impacted by COVID-19 so we continue to urge community members to step up to donate and ensure the safety of their community blood supply.”

Donors are urged to schedule appointments to donate blood at a nearby donor center or mobile blood drive as soon as possible.  Appointments can be made online at www.lifeservebloodcenter.org or by calling 800.287.4903.  Visit www.lifeservebloodcenter.org to find upcoming blood drives in your area.
