Per CDC guidelines, LifeServe is requiring blood donors to wear masks to their appointments beginning May 11. Donors who do not have masks will be provided one at registration. Donors should also take their temperature before reporting to their appointment. A donor with a temperature of 99.5 or higher should reschedule. See a full list of our COVID-19 precautions here.

Odebolt Rallies for Community Member

The blood we collect has real impacts on your neighbors!

Blood recipient and organ transplant recipient Jeanette (Nette) W. from Odebolt is celebrating her 40th birthday this May. She understands how critical having a robust blood supply is; Nette currently receives monthly transfusions but remains optimistic with her motto “Be positive. Be beautiful. Be praying.” Instead of a party this year, she asked for her loved ones to give the gift of life!

One of Nette’s friends, Kathi J., heard the wish and made her request come to life! This week the Odebolt community blood drive collected a record 72 products with 15 first time donors! As a special touch, signage at a display table asked blood donors to sign a shirt for Nette to see just how many of her neighbors showed up for her.

Odebolt Territory Representative Allie Wegner was quick to give credit where credit was due. “Chairperson Joan Godbersen is a regular rockstar! She booked more than half of the appointments and provides nothing but successful blood drives.”

Whether you know a local blood recipient or whether you give blood because it’s a habit, please know that local lives are being impacted with every pint you add to your donation total.
