Thanks for Helping Zainab!

Thank you for helping Zainab – the little Florida girl battling neuroblastoma who has some of the rarest blood in the world.

OneBlood in Florida, Zainab’s community blood center, sent out a thank you this week with an amazing update!

“We are pleased to share that Zainab completed two bone marrow transplant and is now undergoing radiation and immunotherapy treatments. While it will be a few months before it is known if the cancer has been put into remission, her doctor says the little girl is a “superhero” and is optimistic she is on the road to recovery.

“Since being diagnosed in September of last year, Zainab has received more than a dozen blood and platelet transfusions. Doctors say it is likely she will need additional blood transfusions as she continues her cancer treatment.

“More than 25,000 people who meet the donation criteria to be a potential match for Zainab responded wanting to donate for her… resulting in five compatible donors. Two of the donors were found in the United States, two in the United Kingdom and one in Australia.”

Thank you, LifeServers!
