LifeServe Donor Assist Carolinas During Hurricane Florence
By giving local with LifeServe Blood Center, LifeServers are saving local lives. When our community blood supply is strong, we can reach out and help hospital patients in other parts of the country!
Ahead of Hurricane Florence, LifeServe Blood Center, as part of the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) Interorganizational Task Force on Domestic Disasters and Acts of Terrorism, was proud to send around 150 units of red blood cells and platelets to the Carolinas. Blood centers in South Carolina, North Carolina, and other states in the path of the hurricane were able to continue to function as the storm progressed, so further help wasn’t needed.
Keeping a stable blood supply is vital at all times so that our 120+ hospital partners have access to blood when they need it, but also so that we can assist our fellow community blood centers in need during times like these.
Thanks for donating, LifeServers.
